Driven2SaveLives partners with Pippa Mann Racing and Donor Network West During Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Campaign to promote organ, tissue and eye donation and transplantation.
The Driven2SaveLives campaign announced today that its Driver Ambassador Pippa Mann has teamed up with Donor Network West, Shea Holbrook and BUBBA burger® to bring its message to the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) audience for the first time. The campaign, which was launched by Indianan Donor Network in 2016 around the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, and has since been embraced by both United States Auto Club (USAC) and World of Outlaws Racing, is hoping to continue its momentum by registering IMSA fans to become donors in honor of the late Justin Wilson and Bryan Clauson during the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix race weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, September 21-24, 2017.
Mann was IndyCar teammates of both Justin Wilson and Bryan Clauson. Wilson, an IndyCar series and IMSA driver, died following an accident at Pocono Raceway in August 2015. As a registered donor, he saved 5 lives through organ donation. Clauson, best known for his talent and achievements in dirt track open-wheel racing, died in August 2016 following an accident in the Belleville Midget Nationals in Kansas. As a registered donor, Bryan saved five lives as an organ donor and continues to enhance the lives of countless others as a tissue donor.
“While Justin and Bryan are known for their driving exploits, their decisions to register as donors and save the lives of others will forever be part of their legacies” said Pippa Mann. “I’m deeply honored to have this opportunity to remember and to represent my former teammates.”
The Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca event marks the second time that Mann and Holbrook have paired together with support from BUBBA burger to drive the No. 57 Prestige Performance Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo, one of four cars entered by the Wayne Taylor Racing stable. The two driver athletes first joined forces with the Prestige Performance Center|Wayne Taylor Racing team at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo event at Road America in early August.
In addition to showcasing their support with on-car branding, Mann, Holbrook and BUBBA burger are partnering throughout the weekend with Donor Network West to help drive on-site registration of race fans as organ, tissue and eye donors. These efforts will be highlighted through a “Got the Dot” autograph session sponsored by BUBBA burger, with Mann and Holbrook at the Donor Network West booth on Saturday, September 23rd. Over the race weekend, fans will also be able to register to win a pair of autographed driving gloves worn by Mann.
