Mann Lends a Hand to Habitat For Humanity
This past weekend, Pippa Mann attended the Indianapolis Home Show 2010, where she took some time out of her pre-season schedule to lend a helping hand to Habitat for Humanity International.
HFHI is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian charity, that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action worldwide. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need, and has built and renovated more than 300,000 homes around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent and affordable shelter.
HFHI were out in force at the Indianapolis Home Show, and Mann participated in the ‘Doorways to Dreams’ initiative, whereby she was invited to paint doors with fellow Firestone Indy Lights drivers Logan Gomez, James Hinchcliffe, Gustavo Yacaman and Stefan Wilson, which would then be auctioned off to raise some much-needed funds for HFHI.
Mann commented: “Habitat for Humanity's goal is something that should be dear and close to all of us. I’m really pleased I was able to get involved in what is a great scheme, run by some great people, and it’s always cool to be able to get involved and help out in some small way. None of us are artists though – we tried to come up with a good design by way of a chequered flag! Let’s hope it was good enough and we can raise some money for a truly worthwhile cause.”
